Assistant Professor of Marketing Ryan Hamilton was recently named to the “Best 40 B-School Profs Under the Age of 40” list produced by Poets & Quants.

Hamilton, who joined the Goizueta faculty in 2008, completed his PhD in marketing at the Kellogg School of Management (Northwestern University). His research investigates consumer behavior, especially consumer judgment and decision making.

But Poets & Quants looked beyond research to add to the list, placing additional focus on the classroom and personal stories of each professor.

“Marketing can be a hard sell for people from other walks of life such as finance, but Professor Hamilton made it relatable, fun, and personable. No wonder our Monday [morning] marketing class never felt like the first class after a weekend,” Goizueta MBA candidate Sanchit Rege told Poets & Quants. “Real world examples, structured delivery, and the much awaited witty stand-up bit ingrained within the class made it the most memorable class of the semester.”

Fun fact? Hamilton used to do stand-up comedy and performed in a sketch group in college. He says he “mostly gave it up” when he started a family but brings out the humor at the occasional open mic night.

Hamilton is also a past recipient of  Emory’s MBA Teaching Excellence Award for Junior Faculty.

Goizueta MBA alum J.P. Eggers, now an assistant professor of management and organizations at NYU’s Stern School of Business, was also named to the “40 Under 40” list.
