As part of an ongoing commitment to the Atlanta-based organization, Goizueta students recently took part at a build for Habitat for Humanity.

A group of students worked in Jonesboro but that’s one of many events planned by the team, which is led by a group of MBA students.

The home was built in The Avery, a Habitat subdivision with energy efficient homes.

The development is a partnership between Atlanta Habitat for Humanity and Southern Crescent Habitat, according to  Sandhya Deshetty, one of the student leaders of the school’s Habitat program.

Single-family homes in the subdivision went under construction in 2008.

But the student project is actually a fundraiser, with the goal of picking up $10,000 to renovate an existing Habitat home.

The group plans three individual events to raise money, the first taking place Thursday — a First Annual Fall Festival on Patterson Green.

Additional events are planned for later in the month with the Fall Festival continuing as a signature event.

Students at the Fall Festival took part in games, had chances to win prizes from area vendors and chip in for chances to sink marketing professor Ryan Hamilton and others in a dunk tank.

Regular updates on the group’s fundraising progress and events can be found on its Facebook page: www.facebook.com/GoizuetaHabitat.
