In this tough economy with an unemployment rate of nearly ten percent, landing a job is very challenging. It requires time, perseverance and using the right, targeted resources. iRelaunch, the nation’s leading provider of career reentry programming has the solutions — especially for women who are returning to the work force.

The iRelaunch Return to Work Conference, a one-day event hosted by Emory University Goizueta Business School on March 29, 2011, will bring together experienced professionals seeking to return to the workforce and employer sponsors, for a day of education and networking. Speakers include Ann Cramer, Director for IBM Corporate Citizenship and Corporate Affairs and the recently named Power Woman of the Year by Atlanta Woman Magazine as a “25 Atlantans to Watch”. In 2009, Ms. Cramer was also the first to receive the “Essence of Atlanta” Award at the 41st Anniversary of Outstanding Atlanta.

Atlanta entrepreneur Heidi Nel, of Heidi’s Heavenly Cookies, will be on the same panel as Cramer. Desperate for a source of income after the loss of the family’s primary source of earnings in 2002, she turned her passion for baking into a local business. In eight short years, Heidi’s Heavenly Cookies has become a successful nation-wide company.

The iRelaunch Return to Work Conference was created and is led by Carol Fishman Cohen and Vivian Steir Rabin, Harvard Business School alumnae and co-authors of the acclaimed Back on the Career Track: A Guide for Stay-at-Home Moms Who Want to Return to Work, and co-founders of iRelaunch. Cohen and Rabin are recognized experts in the career reentry space and are regularly quoted on the topic in the national press. They have produced their Conference around the country, and most recently internationally in London.

The Conference provides participants with an opportunity to learn about effective career reentry strategies and leave with the tools to craft a return-to-work plan and the inspiration to relaunch their careers. The Conference is content heavy, and will include Cohen and Rabin’s highly rated keynote and workshops, as well as valuable panels of thriving relaunchers and employers who are keenly interested in this talent pool. Sponsors who will be at the conference include Accenture and Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

According to a past conference participant, “attending the conference was one of the best things that I did for myself in a long time. It literally jump-started my relaunch. I had been moving far too slowly… because of a lack of direction and confidence in deciding what to do.”
