Jacob (Jake) Zureich 20PhD has been named the 2025 recipient of the Best Early-Career Researcher in Management Accounting Award from the Management Accounting Section of the American Accounting Association (AAA).
The award, sponsored by the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants, recognizes originality, relevance, and impact in a scholar’s body of work within five years of earning a doctorate. Zureich was honored at the AAA Annual Meeting in August.
This recognition marks the third time a Goizueta PhD alumnus has received the award, underscoring the program’s strength in management accounting research. Previous Goizueta honorees include Ivo Tafkov 14PhD and Willie Choi 15PhD.

The honor also has a special tie to Goizueta. Kristy Towry 08PhD, Professor Emerita of Accounting, was the inaugural recipient of the award in 2008.
