This past weekend, Emory University’s campus was buzzing with the sights and sounds of the yearly Homecoming and Reunion Weekend. The days were filled with family friendly activities, live music, local food, and reminiscing. Alumni from across the country came back to their alma mater for a weekend of meeting up with friends and classmates, making new connections, showing family their favorite haunts, and celebrating all things Emory and Goizueta.

“Homecoming & Reunion Weekend brings the spirit of the Goizueta community to life,” shares Lindsay Topping, senior director of alumni engagement at Goizueta Business School. “Each year, it’s incredibly rewarding to welcome alumni back to campus as they reconnect with classmates, revisit favorite memories, and create new ones. The energy, friendships, and sense of belonging throughout the weekend are what make this tradition so special, and we’re grateful to everyone who is part of it.”

One of these hallmark celebrations honored the 10-year anniversary of Goizueta’s Master of Science in Business Analytics. This program is ranked number one in Georgia and #16 in the U.S. for employability of graduates, which Zuzana Hlavacova Gurung, associate dean of specialized masters programs at Goizueta calls “a testament to the program’s academic excellence, strong corporate partnerships, outstanding career outcomes, and, above all, the dedication of the faculty, staff, and industry partners who have contributed to its success.”

Gurung says the anniversary “reflects a decade of excellence, innovation, and achievement. We are especially proud of our community of more than 450 alumni and the meaningful impact they are making across industries.”

A First Homecoming for Dean Mitra

However, for one attendee, it was an entirely new experience. This year was the first homecoming weekend since John H. Harland Dean Saby Mitra joined Goizueta in August.

“A great business school is defined not only by the education it provides, but by the community it builds,” says Mitra. “This year’s homecoming was a wonderful reminder of the lifelong relationships that begin at Goizueta and the many ways our alumni continue to contribute to the school. As I begin my tenure as dean, I’m looking forward to strengthening those connections and working together to build an even brighter future for Goizueta.”
