Guardian Fund, LP, an Atlanta-based hedge fund founded and managed by 2009 Goizueta MBA graduate Michael Williams, announced June 9 that Barclays Capital has named Guardian Fund as the top performing options strategy hedge fund in its worldwide database.

Since its launch in 2009, Guardian’s trading strategies have cumulatively returned 434.10 percent, earning an annualized return of 106.5 percent. It has returned a net profit of 40.88 percent so far this year, compared to a return of 7.18 percent for the S&P 500 index.

“Guardian Fund has enjoyed success in both bull and bear markets because our strategies can generate profits in any market cycle,” said Williams. “More importantly, we have accomplished this with much less downside risk than most common stock market investments. We are very proud of this accomplishment and strive for continued success.”

Williams, 36, graduated Beta Gamma Sigma from Goizueta’s Executive MBA program and has worked as an investor, trader and venture capitalist for 15 years. Williams’ undergraduate work included two years at the United States Naval Academy, and he graduated with a BBA in Business Administration from Mississippi State University. He is a licensed registered investment advisor representative and resides in Atlanta.
