Goizueta EvMBA students take 2nd place at National Black MBA Association Annual Case Competition.

We are proud to announce the Gouizueta Business School took 2nd place in the Annual Case Competition at the 35th Annual National Black MBA Association (NBMBAA) in Houston, Texas!

This year’s theme was “Courageous Leadership: Owning Your Own Success!” As put by the Conference, “In today’s challenging business environment Courageous Leadership is the key for organizations and executives to distinguish themselves from the competition. Courageous Leaders have the confidence and integrity to make the right decisions even when it is difficult, to take risks on new ideas, and to take ownership for the important work that success requires.”

For the past 35 years, NBMBAA Conferences have given opportunities to courageous leaders to gain the knowledge, access, and resources critical to stay on top. The conference always includes a case competition.  This year’s participants, Theo Harvey 14EvMBA, Joe Faxio 14EvMBA, and Iesha Scott 14EvMBA examined the challenge of retail automotive marketing in an environment dominated increasingly by digital and social media communications platforms.  Beating prestigious schools such as Howard University, UCLA, and Penn State, the Emory team won $15,000 in scholarships.

Through activities such as this annual conference, the NBMBAA’s mission is to lead in the creation of educational, career and entrepreneur opportunities resulting in economic development for its members and community.
