Assistant Professor in the Practice of Finance, Tom Smith, led a roundtable discussion on the state of the Alabama economy and development opportunities May 28.

Participants included heads of economic development from The Southern Company, Alabama Business Alliance, Chamber of Commerce, President’s office of the University of Alabama-Birmingham and the President Pro Tem of the Alabama Senate.

Discussion focused on identifying growth potential and facilitating legislation that will incentivize more business in Alabama.
