Social Enterprise @ Goizueta (SE@G) continues its support of coffee farmers in Central America through its “Famers to 40” program. Farmers to 40 encourages sustainable economic development within the coffee-growing communities of Nicaragua with a direct trade model that adequately compensates farmers for the time, skill and effort required to produce high-quality coffee. Farmers to 40 sells to consumers that care about coffee and returns a fixed percentage of the retail sale price to the farmers who grow the beans. Visit http://www.farmersto40.com for more information about this project, and about the specialty coffee market more generally.
