Career Achievements and Prestigious Honors

Emma Zhang, Goizueta Term Chair Professor of Information Systems and Operations Management, was named a fellow of the American Statistical Association (2025). Zhang was also named to Poets and Quants Best 40 Under 40 (2026).

Vilma Todri, associate professor of information systems and operations management, received the AIS Mid Career Award from the Association for Information Systems (2025).

Kathryn Kadous, Schaefer Chaired Professor of Accounting, was named a presidential scholar by the American Accounting Association (2025).

Eve Rosenzweig, professor of information systems and operations management, received a distinguished affiliated professorship from the Technical University of Munich (2025).

Recognitions for Research Excellence

Aizhan Anarkulova, assistant professor of finance, was named a 2025 Research Award Winner by the International Centre for Pension Management (2025).

Panagiotis Adamopoulos, Goizueta Term Chair Associate Pofessor of Information Systems and Operations Management, was named a finalist for the Best IS Paper in Management Science Award (2025).

Panagiotis Adamopoulos and Vilma Todri, associate professor of information systems and operations management, received the Women in ACM RecSys 2025 Journal Paper of the Year Award (2025).

Tetyana Balyuk, assistant professor of finance, was recognized as an editor’s choice by the Review of Corporate Finance Studies (RCFS) for her paper, “What is Fueling FinTech Lending? The Role of Banking Market Structure” (2026).

Diwas KC, professor of information systems and operations management, received the Stan Hardy Best Paper Award. The award recognizes research excellence within the Decision Sciences Institute and is given to the outstanding manuscript selected from full-paper submissions at the annual Midwest Decision Sciences Conference (2026).

Hancheng Cao, assistant professor of information systems and operations management and assistant professor of computer science by courtesy, was named a finalist in the Google DeepMind/Stanford AI for Organizations Grand Challenge (2025). Cao also received the Senior Area Chair Highlight Award at the Empirical Methods in Natural Language Processing Conference. The award recognized “Prototypical Human–AI Collaboration Behaviors from LLM-Assisted Writing in the Wild,” which was listed among the top 47 papers out of more than 8,000 submissions (2025).

Ludovica Castiglia, assistant professor of organization and management, received multiple accolades, including the Best Paper of the Annual Meeting Academy of Management Proceedings honor and the Best Student Paper Award from the European Group for Organizational Studies (2025). Castiglia was also named a finalist for the MOC Best Student Paper Award in Entrepreneurial Cognition (2025) and was nominated for the Louis Pondy Best Dissertation Paper Award from the Organization and Management Theory Division of the Academy of Management Annual Meeting (2025).

Wei Jiang, vice dean for faculty and Charles Howard Candler Professor of Finance, received the 2025 HKU Jockey Club Enterprise Sustainability Global Research Institute annual best working paper award for “AI and the Extended Workday: Productivity, Contracting Efficiency, and Distribution of Rents” (2025). Jiang also received the Journal of Financial Economics Fama-DFA Annual Best Paper Award (2025).

Kathryn Kadous, Schaefer Chaired Professor of Accounting, received the Best Paper Award from the Auditing Section of the American Accounting Association (2025).

Brian Jonghwan Lee, assistant professor of finance, was awarded best paper at the Eastern Finance Association annual meeting (2026).

William Mann, associate professor of finance, received a Review of Financial Studies Editor’s Choice Article recognition (2025).

Nikolay Osadchiy, associate professor of information systems and operations management, was named winner of the Complex Network Analysis Data Challenge by the IFAC MIM Conference organizers (2025). Osadchiy also received the MSOM IFORM SIG Best Paper Award from the Manufacturing and Service Operations Management Society (2025).

David Schweidel, professor of marketing and Goizueta Chair in Business Technology, received the Sheth Foundation Journal of Marketing Award for long-term impact (2025).

Recognition for Professional, Business Education and Thought Leadership

Wei Jiang, vice dean for faculty and Charles Howard Candler Professor of Finance, was named president of the American Finance Association for 2026, after previously serving as president-elect (2026). Jiang was also named deputy chair of the Capital Markets Academic Council of the China Securities Regulatory Commission. The council is an advisory body that provides research-based input on China’s capital market development and regulation (2025).

Nikolay Osadchiy, associate professor of information systems and operations management, was named president-elect of the Manufacturing and Service Operations Management Society (2025-2026).

Jill Perry-Smith, professor of organization and management and academic director of the Roberto C. Goizueta Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation, was appointed co-editor-in-chief of Academy of Management Review (2026).

Anandhi Bharadwaj, Goizueta Endowed Chair in Electronic Commerce and professor of information systems and operations management, serves as a member of the NIST AI Council, a U.S. government consortium through the National Institute of Standards and Technology that promotes AI safety (2022).

Rajiv Garg, associate professor of information systems and operations management, received the IEEE Atlanta Outstanding Educator Award from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (2025).

Ruomeng Cui, Goizueta Foundation Term Associate Professor of Information Systems and Operations Management, was recognized for doctoral supervision connected to a runner-up honor in the POMS College of Service Operations Management Best Student Paper Award (2025).

Emma Zhang, Goizueta Term Chair Professor of Information Systems and Operations Management, was recognized for doctoral supervision connected to the American Statistical Association Best Student Paper Award in Business and Economic Statistics (2025).

Tucker Balch, professor in the practice and research of finance, was awarded 10 patents in 2025 in the areas of artificial intelligence in finance and cryptography in finance (2025).

Donald Lee, associate professor of information systems and operations management, received the Emory Healthcare Innovation Challenge award, including $160,000 in funding to support implementation of his research on survival machine learning to create an early warning system for nurse turnover at Emory University Healthcare (2025).

Eve Rosenzweig, professor of information systems and operations management, received the Best Senior Editor Award from Production and Operations Management Journal (2025).

Emily Bianchi, associate professor of organization and management, was named associate editor of Administrative Science Quarterly (2025-2026).

Douglas Bowman, professor of marketing, was named president of the INFORMS Society for Marketing Science (2024-Present).

Gonzalo Maturana, associate professor of finance, was named associate editor of the Journal of Banking & Finance (2025). Maturana was also appointed a member of the Federal Reserve’s Model Validation Council (2025).

Giacomo Negro, Asa Griggs Candler Professor of Organization and Management and professor of sociology by courtesy, and associate dean for culture and community, was named senior editor of Organization Science (2022-present).
