Emory University’s Goizueta Business School recently extended its relationship with Johannes Kepler University, ensuring more students and faculty will have access to a truly global business education in the future.

The agreement, which started as an informal exchange program in 1981, includes a summer internship program for MBA and BBA students.

“I think it’s very important to have an exchange of students with the United States (because of) it’s economic strength,” JKU rector Dr. Richard Hagelaur said. “It’s also important to the education of the European people. It’s why we have a tie to one of the business schools in the United States.”

Students from Johannes Kepler University also attend classes on Emory’s campus. A formal partnership between the schools began in 1983.

“It’s interesting to point out the cooperation between the two schools but I think professor exchange is very important for us,” said Dr. Friedrich Roithmayr, vice-rector for communication and foreign affairs at Johannes Kepler University Linz.

Approximately 13,000 students  attend JKU in Linz, the third-largest city in Austria. The school offers degrees in business, engineering, law, social sciences and science.
