Professor Emeritus of Accounting Al Hartgraves received an honorary doctorate of social science and economics last week from Johannes Kepler University (Austrian Business School) in Linz, Austria.

Hartgraves has played a key role in the formal relationship between JKU and Emory that began in 1983.

A member of the Goizueta Business School faculty since 1980, Hartgraves has served as Acting Dean, Senior Associate Dean, and Assistant Dean and Director of MBA Programs.  He has been a Guest Professor on several occasions at the Helsinki School of Business and Economics in Helsinki, Finland and JKU, where he is also an honorary member of the faculty.

The school has awarded 27 honorary doctorates.

Goizueta recently extended its relationship with JKU ensuring more students and faculty will have access to a truly global business education in the future. The agreement, which started as an informal exchange program in 1981, includes a summer internship program for MBA and BBA students.
