Benn Konsynski, George S. Craft Distinguished University Professor of Information Systems & Operations Management, will be the featured speaker at the Goizueta Alumni Entrepreneur Network event Oct. 13.
In his lecture, “Toys Becoming Tools: Emerging Technologies and Future Possibilities,” Konsynski will examine the emerging technologies that will make new things possible. Sensors, mobility, embedded intelligence; mesh networks, augmented reality and new analytics will craft a new landscape. Konsynski will discuss how technology changes the options of what can be done while our values shape what should be done. What are the trends that will have dramatic and disruptive effects? What might we expect for the environment of 2015 and beyond?
Konsynski (Twitter) arrived at Goizueta following six years on the faculty at the Harvard Business School where he taught in the MBA program and several executive programs. Prior to arriving at HBS, he was a professor at the University of Arizona where he was a co-founder of a multi-million dollar group decision support laboratory. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Purdue University.
